Stuart lives in Kinghorn having moved there two years ago. Since then, the village has become his muse as he feels a strong connection with the place; it's diversity from the sea to the countryside has been a constant inspiration. He explains, "I always knew someday that I would live here." Stuart's paintings are mainly nocturnes exploring how light changes as the day turns to night and how these lighting conditions connect with the landscape. He is also fascinated with how certain places in Kinghorn hold special significance to individuals, conjuring memories of someone who is no longer with them.
